Senate Committees

The following student committees have their own websites. For a complete list of committees as well as a description of each one, see the ASPC Bylaws.

Reserves Investment Oversight Committee

In addition to the committees outlined in the Bylaws, the new Reserves Investment Oversight Committee has been created.

This committee shall be chaired by the Vice President and shall consist of the President, one Senator, three students-at-large, and two staff advisors. The primary responsibility of the committee shall be to oversee the investment of ASPC reserves. The committee shall meet at minimum quarterly to review investment guidelines, communicate with the investment firm, and facilitate an annual meeting between the firm and the Senate.

Working Groups

Additionally, the Senate will be forming three working groups, under the supervision of Dean Feldblum. The groups are as follows:

Residence Hall Working Group

One to two students as large will be selected for this working group. This group will work to come up with a plan for the new residence hall to be built on North Campus in the next 3-5 years, as outlined in the Strategic Plan. Students on this committee will meet often with Dean Feldblum as well as other faculty and administration advisors and will be asked to reflect the opinions of the student body. The Environmental Quality Commissioner will also be a student member of this working group.

Community Partnerships Working Group

One to two students as large will be selected for this working group. This group will work to create, build and sustain partnerships within our local and greater community, as outlined in the Strategic Plan. Students on this committee will meet often with Dean Feldblum as well as other faculty and administration advisors, and will be asked to reflect the opinions of the student body. The Off Campus Commissioner will also be a student member of this working group.

Speakers Fund Working Group

One to two students as large will be selected for this working group. This group will work to come up with a more successful way to fund, recruit and host well known speakers on our campus, as outlined in the Strategic Plan. Students on this committee will meet often with Dean Feldblum as well as other faculty and administration advisors, and will be asked to reflect the opinions of the student body. The Communications Commissioner will also be a student member of this working group.
